I always remember being very young near central Michigan and driving by these big Cat earthmovers. I have loved them my whole life. I would love to hop in the operators seat someday and drive one around for about 10 minutes just to feel the power and the enormous size of it. Not so much to dig with it as that would take a lot of training . As I sat on this huge scraper it was parked next to another one just like it. I was very surprised to hear that this was Mikes Mom machine. He said she could run it perfectly. Mike said his mom was 65 years old before she stopped. He said he was just 11 years old when he started running one. Terry is Mikes wife and she also ran heavy equipment for several years. In fact, Mike said a few years ago he was out of town for several days on a job and Terry grabbed a excavator and dug up the driveway and put in a new culvert and filled it in and graded it . She said she had been wanting that done for a long time and decided to do it herself. Now that is what you call a handy wife, LOL !!!
This scraper had 550hp up front and 400 hp in the back engine.
There are two more pictures below this one of the visit too.
DAY 7 OF HEALTHY EATING- We been home about a week and we are very happy with our progress. We were worried getting a taste of junk food for 10 days on vacation might be hard to get going again. We are actually very excited we are doing so well . This way we know we can have fun on vacations and eat junk food in resturants in moderation. Tomorrow is weigh day , we’ll see how we did the first week back. In past tries at losing weight, I have never doen what I am now doing, so I think I might be able to keep going this time. In the past I always walked everyday. And several times I walked and counted calories. But I never walked, counted calories , and made 100% healthy choices. I used to save my calories for at night for a Pepsi , a small bowl of potato chips and a couple dozen Jelly Bellies. So I never got the energy to keep going. I always kept close to my 2000 calories for the day. But I was always hungry and craved more. This time I am also making healthy choices along with the walking and the counting calories. My stomach is the smallest it has been in over two years. That is pretty exciting considering the short time we have been doing this.
MOTORHOME WINTERIZATION TODAY- I went and got the motorhome this morning and cleaned everything out of it and drained the tanks and put in RV antifreeze. We had a great summer of camping. Now our trips will be in the car and in motels the rest of this year.
HAULED STEEL- TWO FLAT TIRES. - I hauled four barrels of shredded steel from the last couple years of the toy building yesterday. I was hoping to get enough to take Deb out for supper someday, ha,ha. I was glad to see the check he handed me was for $120.00 . After I got home I saw my trailer tire was almost flat. Then I drove the tractor back to the shed and started to ride my bike back home and I got a flat tire on my bike. Two flat tires in one day!!, I should have played the lotto !! (:>).
TWO MORE PICS below this one- I posted three pics today of our afternoon at Mikes.

Mike has this monster at home and he said he has another one on a job site. He also said they are about the same size as a Cat D-10. It was huge as I climbed up inside of it.
