Don Campbell visits Edmore Potato Country

Here is a picture Deb took of me checking out a couple Mc Cormick Tractors parked at Sackett Farm Machinery in Mc Bride , Michigan.
Today we will continue our drive to see the machine I plan to build as a model in the next several weeks.
Terex Titan Progress- I got several more railings welded around the top edge of the truck. I also got the right side fender welded in place. The right side platform over the right fender is now also welded in place.
Pizza Sams of Alma - Deb and I figured our calories for the day and saved enough to get a small Pizza Sam’s Pizza last night as we passed through Alma, Mi. We used to get a large, double crust pizza, fries, onion rings, a bread basket , and a picture of pop. Now that we are losing weight, we are aware of portion control . It tasted GREAT !!!
It’s great to have a laptop computer in the motel.
Have a nice Sat.

DON CAMPBELL LOSES 12 LBS. IN JUST 3 WEEKS .

DON CAMPBELL LOSES 12 LBS. IN JUST 3 WEEKS .

WEIGH DAY - I was pleased to see I had another great week on the scales. I have now lost 12 lbs in just three weeks. I got 8 lbs. to go to my first goal of 20 lbs. The best thing about it is we don’t eat diet food. We eat real butter, regular pop , etc. It’s all about portion control , most resturaunts serve four to five portions per person . One meal in most resturaunts is more than a person should eat in tow days .
It’s hard to believe how 2000 calories a day is not a lot of food compared to 5000 or 6000 that I eat over the winter months. But i am making the adjustment just fine.
TRI-STATE MINING UPDATE- John E-mailed me again today saying things were still shut down the the mine but they are letting them in to do maintainence on the machines. He said it’s going to be very sad going back .
Just the few hours I spent in the mines , I noticed the radios are going constantly with chatter from one machine to another. Sometjmes it’s about machine breakdowns , but often it was funny little comments to each other.
So even though they are all in different machines , they are constantly talking to each and amusing each other during the day. So not hearing on the radio a voice you knew for 17 years on the radio would be heartbreaking. Deb and I still feel very sad for the families and friends in the little mining community.
TEREX TITAN - Here is the first picture of the left side of the monster truck model starting to get a shape to it. The other side has a lot of hours of work yet to go. It is very close to 1/16th scale with these tires. I am happy how it looks so far.
RAINY FRIDAY- It’s been raining all morning so looks like I will get more done on the Terex this afternoon .
SAT. ADVENTURE- Deb and I are heading out in the morning to go see a machine I am going to make a model of this summer. We will take several pictures of it and a video clip of it too to share on the webpage.

Here is one of two new pics I posted today of memories of a great day with James in the Va. Coal Mines.
I have 8 pictures framed of 11″x6″ hanging on the wall of me in the seat of a Cat D-11R, driving the Cat 789C Monster Truck , me driving the Cat 994D Loader . That made a lifetime impression on me.
This last visit if you remember I got to operate the 6.5 million dollar Terex Shovel with a 33 yard bucket. There is video in the (video ) section under monster machines if you would like to see it.
Thanks again James, the picture below this one shows me driving the monster loader.
Terex Titan Model Progress- With another rain day today I am working away on the cab . It is almost done and this afternoon I should get it done and get the control box built that mounts behind it.
Then I will work on the railings that go around the cab. The weatherman is saying rain tomorrow too so in the morning I will work on the front nose of the truck. I will post the first picture of it tomorrow of the left side that is starting to take some shape.
WEIGH DAY TOMORROW - Tomorrow I will weigh in for week no, three of downsizing my body, ha,ha. I have lost 7.5 lbs. in the last two weeks. This is week no. 3 . I am feeling better already.
