Power King Tractor, Ian and Shane

Here is a picture that Brian Powell sent me of his neat little Power King Tractor. Sitting in the seat of the neat little tractor is his two boys, Ian and Shane. I bet they’ll grow up to love tractors too. Many years ago I had a little Economy Tractor and I loved that little tractor. Brian is a machine design engineer for the Kobelco Co.
LETOURNEAU LOADER MODEL PROGRESS- The loader parts are back on my workbench. This morning I painted the inside of the cab, attached the frame sections, mounted the wheels , bolted in the engine /generator, Got the radiator in place , attached the side cat walk and stairs, and bolted on the loader arms and lift cylinders. The fire suppressor tanks are all painted red now , the exhaust stacks are now painted black and all the lights are painted. The roll bar with the four jumbo spot lights are all bolted in place. This afternoon I will put the windows in the cab and mount the bucket and the dump linkages. So by suppertime it should be 95% completed. Seeing that officially today at 5:00 Deb and I are taking a 4 day weekend to spend with family and just enjoy life in general. We are taking the laptop so I will keep up the webpage as we enjoy life in general the next four days, ha,ha. I think enjoying life in general does include stopping and looking at cool machinery and taking pictures, LOL
Cat D-9G Dozer Progress- Last night I did get the lower frame parts welded and bolted in place. I also got the floor section cut out and the openings for the pedals. The rear fuel tank is also welded together and welded in place. Mon. I will continue to work forward building the hydraulic tank, control consoles with levers on both sides of the seat and the operators seat. Then the pedals, foot rests, and then forward to the dash and steering brake hand levers and upper throttle lever. I am excited to see this old Cat D-9G take shape on my workbench.
GAYLORD WEATHER- 50 degrees and I just got back from a short ride in the Corvette around the neightborhood to get the fluids stirred up in it from sitting for a few weeks during the snowy weather. It’s still fun to have .
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE FROM DON , DEB , NICOLE AND BILL

Worlds Biggest Grader, Acco from Italy

Worlds Biggest Grader, Acco from Italy

I want to thank Keven Kenny again for also helping me with the upcoming Acco 12 wheeled Monster Grader project that I plan to build this winter. A couple years ago a fellow E-mailed me from Italy with a few pics of the grader with his little boy next to it. He said he lived about 15 minutes from where it was parked. I have not forgot about building this awesome looking , unique looking grader. This is on the top five list of this winters models to be built. This is a cool picture of the grader inside the building where it sits.
Cat D9-G Dozer Progress- The track grousers are now all welded to the track pads and the tracks are on the track frames. Now I am starting to build up the frame towards the floor of the machine. By tonight the floor should be in place and the rear fuel tank should be welded together and mounted to the rear of the frame.
LETOURNEAU L-1800 Loader Progress- None, but tomorrow I will spend the whole day doing the final assembly , putting the windows in the cab, detailing it and putting on the decals. So Thanksgiving Day I will post the completed LeTourneau Loader Model if all goes well.
GAYLORD WEATHER- 39 inches of snow so far, but the weatherman is saying above normal temps for the next few days. Our snow on the ground is almost gone , it’s hard to believe we have already got 39 inches with very little left on the ground.
I may have to get the Corvette out one more time this year and go do a little cruisin with my special girl, Deb . (:>)
We were dating when we went and bought the first Corvette, and now 6 Corvettes later and 34 years later, we still have a lot of fun together in it.

DRAGLINE PICTURES- As I get closer to starting the NorthWest Dragline model, I have received a bunch of dragline photos. I want to thank Jerry Penner for all the pictures he sent me . Even though I am not getting many pics of the exact model no. of Mels Dragline, I am saving the pictures to my computer for possible future dragline models. We were going to go see another dragline yesterday and take some pics, but it did not work out. With mild weather in the forecast later this week, that will be one of our little adventures for the four day weekend coming up.
Speaking of ADVENTURES !! , Deb and I are thinking it’s looking like a 99.9% chance we got another very cool adventure scheduled for the spring that most of you will enjoy. So we are looking forward to that. It will be our first time in that part of the country.
LeTourneau L-1800 Loader Model Progress- With the short work week, I’m not sure I will get the loader assembled as I want to keep working on the tracks until they are done.
CAT D-9G DOZER PROGRESS- I got all the track pads cut out and part of them bent, by tonight I will have them all bent and drilled and should have the grousers all cut and some of them welded to the track pads.
